Is conscious experience the same as brain activity or something more? At the heart of the philosophy of mind is the question ‘What is consciousness?’ We will examine canonical responses to this question together with related metaphysical questions such as whether a machine can be conscious. This is a 10-session course and must be taken with W210Am02 in Week 2.
