The 20th century was an age of extraordinary change: empires collapsed, ideologies clashed, and a global order based on competing visions of power and principles emerged. This course explores how two World Wars, decolonisation, the Cold War, and globalisation reshaped the ways nations interact and how international institutions and ideas evolved in response. Moving from the competition of empires to the politics of global governance, we trace the shifting balance between conflict and cooperation. No prior study is required - just curiosity about how the century’s transformations still shape the world we inhabit today.
