Cambridge Clinical Medicine Programme: modular study
Studying for CPPD
The modules can be studied for Continuing Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) only. Students studying for CPPD (not for credit) attend the teaching sessions alongside award bearing students but do not complete the associated assignment. A certificate of attendance is given at the end of the course.
Please note that these modules are for CPPD only. Should you decide at a later date to join the full award bearing course that a module forms part of, you will need to retake the module as part of the course and pay the full course fee. You would also need to submit a new application and meet the advertised entry requirements.
Available modules and links to application pages
The modules run over four or five days, and attendees will have access to materials on a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to support their learning. Please use the links below to discover more about any of these modules.

Key programme information
The clinical medicine programme at University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education provides the following part-time, award-bearing study options:
PG Certificate in Clinical Research Education and Leadership
PG Diploma in Clinical Medicine
The standalone CPPD modules offered as part of this programme are not credit-bearing and cannot be transferred forward into an award. If you are interested in working towards a clinical medicine qualification, we recommend applying directly for the Postgraduate Certificate as the formal entry point to the award route.
You may apply for as many individual modules as desired. A separate application is required for each. Please submit your application as far in advance of the deadline as possible as modular applications are subject to an admissions process, and this can take several weeks.
Before you start your application, please have your application documents ready.
To apply to study for CPPD modules, you will need to provide:
- Curriculum Vitae
- You may need to meet the language requirements for study at Cambridge (see below)
- International students must ensure they have the correct Visa documentation, and those in full-time employment, whether in the UK or abroad, to work and study at the same time.
All applicants are required to demonstrate competency in English at a high level before commencing the programme; students whose first language is not English must be able to satisfy the requirements below.
- IELTS Academic: Overall score of 7.0 (a minimum of 7.0 in Listening, Writing and Speaking; 6.5 in Reading)
- TOEFL Internet: Overall score of 100 (a minimum of 25 in each individual component)
- CAE: Grade A or B (with at least 193 in each individual element) plus a Language Centre assessment
- CPE: Grade A, B, or C (with at least 200 in each individual element)
